History of closed fireplaces
The main reason that motivated, the first companies to built closed fireplaces, was to ensure the avoidance of unpleasant consequences that brought the lack of door, such as ashes and sparks on the floor and carpets, which increase the risk of fire.
Also they wanted to create a fireplace that final consumers would enjoy, without ever having the concern of fire but only to enjoy the warmth.
A second major factor that prompted them to create a fireplace with the door, was to reduce the uncontrolled wood consumption which occurs in open fireplaces. The latter, in fact pull the warm air space and lead abruptly to the chimney. Thus there is a waste and escape of energy which was very bland. For this reason they had a target to create a closed type of fireplace , by controlling the oxygen input into the combustion space which consequently would bring and lower consumption in the woods
As the years were passing, began testing new combustion management methods something which, if it resulted manage to reduce the consumption of fuel, it would be absolutely certain as proved indeed later, that would raise the efficiency
